The Experience

You will be fishing from a western-style Clackacraft Drift Boat.

We provide high quality light tackle fly rods, reels, lines, and flies to optimize and offer experiences within the experience.

We have all the gear covered, but you are more than welcome to bring your own fishing gear if you want.

We have certified fishing-specific life jackets built for comfort and safety, extra sunscreen + bug spray if needed, and a first aid kit on-board.

A cooler will be onboard with bottled water + a variety of non-alcoholic beverage options, and you may B.Y.O.B. if you would like.

The Guide

Mike is a third-generation fly angler from Minnesota and guides fly fishing trips on lakes and rivers via a Clackacraft drift boat. The float trips are scenic, fun, and a great way to experience nature and learn about the great outdoors. He works with beginners and experienced anglers alike.

When he isn’t spending time with his family or guiding in Minnesota, Mike enjoys chasing trout in Montana, where his family has deep roots, as well as pursuing saltwater species in Florida and around the world.

Finesse Spinning Coaching | Bass Tournament & Skill Development

Learn how to fish shoreline structure and catch more largemouth bass with finesse spinning gear. Learn presentations that consistently put educated fish in the boat on pressured water and give you an edge over those using baitcasting gear.

Coaching takes place from a fully equipped drift boat, allowing for a stable standing platform for casting with a low-pressure teaching environment focused on skill development.

*More about learning technique than actually catching fish, but that may also happen.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes — anyone 16 or older needs a valid Minnesota fishing license. You can grab one online at the Minnesota DNR website or at most bait shops and sporting goods stores.

License fees help fund fisheries management, habitat protection, conservation efforts, and enforcement across the state. Every licensed angler helps protect the fish and waters we enjoy today and preserve them for future generations.

Do you require a deposit?

No upfront deposit needed. Just show up ready to fish and pay on the day of your trip. No worries if you want to cancel or reschedule due to weather, etc.

Do you have life jackets onboard?

Yes, we have comfortable fishing specific life jackets on board. You are not required to wear them but can if you wish. A first aid kit is onboard and guides are First Aid, CPR, AED certified.
